Welcome to Taiwan! To ensure a smooth journey to Taiwan, please review the passport and visa requirements corresponding to your nationality well in advance of your travel.
1. Passport Validity & Entry Requirements

Passport Validity: All foreign visitors entering Taiwan must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

Online Arrival Card (TWAC): To expedite your immigration clearance upon arrival, the National Immigration Agency, R.O.C. (Taiwan) requires all incoming foreign visitors to complete the Online Arrival Card (TWAC) within 7 days prior to arrival.
2. Visa Categories & Applications
Please check your visa requirements based on your nationality and the purpose of your visit (Attending an International Conference).

Type A: Visa-Exempt Entry:
Citizens of specific countries (including the US, Canada, EU countries, Japan, South Korea, and more) are eligible for visa-exempt entry for a duration of 30 or 90 days.

Requirements: A passport valid for at least 6 months, a confirmed return/next-destination flight ticket, and a completed TWAC.

Type B: eVisa (Electronic Visa):
If your country is eligible for Taiwan's eVisa program, you can apply for a tourist or business visa online without visiting a diplomatic mission.

Type C: Conditional Visa-Exempt (Southeast Asian Countries) Citizens of India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos who hold a valid visa or resident card issued by designated developed nations may be eligible to apply online for a free ROC Travel Authorization Certificate.

Type D: Visitor Visa for Attending Conference

If you do not qualify for the options above, you must apply for a Visitor Visa at your nearest ROC (Taiwan) Embassy, Consulate, or Representative Office.

Required Documents: Visa application form (with barcode), 2 passport photos, passport (original & copy), and an official Letter of Invitation from the Conference.
3. Requesting a Conference Letter of Invitation
The Conference Secretariat can issue an official Letter of Invitation to assist with your visa application.

Policy & Requirements: Registration First. Letters of Invitation will ONLY be issued to participants who have completed their registration and paid their registration fees in full.

Purpose: The letter is solely intended to help participants obtain a visa and does not imply any financial commitment or boarding support from the organizer.

How to Request: Please contact the Congress Secretariat via email (ascapap2027@gmail.com / info@ascapap2027.org) with the following information: Full Name, Nationality, Affiliation / Institution & Job Title and Abstract/Paper Title (if you are an accepted presenter)
4. Special Provisions (China Residents)
Participants holding passports from China cannot apply for a standard Visitor Visa or entry through the usual channels. A specialized Entry Permit (入臺證) must be processed online via the Taiwan co-organizer and the National Immigration Agency.

Processing Time: The review process takes a minimum of 2 to 3 months.

Apply Early: Visa processing times vary significantly by region. We strongly advise applying for your visa at least 6 to 8 weeks prior to the congress.
